Building Cross-Professional Scholarship Teams with CPCHES – Friday, March 27, 2015

This spring, CPCHES is taking the next step – inviting scholars to meet and move forward in building collaborative teams working on the issues they have identified as key for the future of health professions education (HPE).

Past CPCHES participants – and new participants too! – are invited to join us for a team-building event on Friday March 27, 2015 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM at The Old Barn Community Centre (6308 Thunderbird Boulevard at UBC).

Getting Support

The CPCHES initiative is overseen by a Leadership Team with representatives from across the health professions.  We are committed to inspiring, nurturing, and supporting the development of cross-professional learning and research networks.  The initiative is designed to cultivate the development of cross-professions ‘project’ teams in the ‘formative’ stages:

  • Learning Teams: engage scholars in systematic learning about a common theme to build or enrich a collaboration
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Teams: include scholars in early stages of shaping a collaborative project

When ready, and to support their sustained work, teams are ‘linked’ into other existing supports/services (e.g., available through CTLT, department, schools, or faculties, Peter Wall, etc.,)

What kinds of Support are Provided?

Supports to Team Meetings:

  • Meeting facilitation
  • Preparing agendas/materials
  • Logistical support (scheduling, notes)

Assisting Teams in Accessing Resources:

  • Relevant scholarly expertise or literature
  • Links to existing supports (for grant facilitation; funding options)
  • Assisting teams in preparing proposals and reports (e.g., ethics)

Please help us seed your efforts to come together as health professions scholars by filling out the following form.
